On the menu: hot coffee and espresso, frosty chai, kombucha and cold brew (all on tap!), and Latin baked treats. Plus, the shop offers plenty of feline-inspired gifts available for purrchase. The nonprofit sources the kitties from nearby Fishtails Animal Rescue, and if you bond with a furry friend — because we know you will — you can apply to adopt one. When: Through Sunday, May 19, 2024 Where: Woodmere Art Museum, 9201 Germantown Avenue While traveling the United States in 2003, Venezuelan-born artist Henry Bermudez learned the government in his home country determined that his work threatened its authoritarian cultural objectives. That led Bermudez to seek political asylum in Philadelphia, where he continued to experiment with the mythological subjects and visual strategies of Venezuela tied to the rupture of displacement and culture of Philadelphia. Woodmere Art Museum’s Henry Bermudez in Philadelphia is the most extensive exhibition of Bermudez’s art, including approximately 70 works chronicling his experiences since immigrating to Philadelphia. Plus, this week Woodmere hosts a handful of special events, including a night of jazz during Music at Woodmere: Motown Divas (Friday) and the Claymobile — a pop-up ceramics studio by Philly’s Clay Studio.
