Saturday, May 04, 2019 8:00p.m. Almanac @University Lutheran, 3637 Chestnut St. Kevin Laskey presents Almanac, an evening-long music event that's a collaboration between the Penn Department of Music and Bowerbird. The work explores the dual roles of an almanac as prophecy and information compendium. The performance is supported in part by The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation. Sunday, May 05, 2019 11:30a.m. - 7:00p.m. Order, Reorder, and Disorder @Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce St. The Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies hosts the 25th Annual Gruss Colloquium, aims to reorder the social, cultural, political, and economic contexts that traditionally encompass how modern Jewish and Islamic life is considered. The two-day gathering consists of panels, networking opportunities, and a musical performance by David's Harp.
