According to a recent Facebook post, Morris Arboretum now expects peak bloom to begin in the region this weekend, while Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center’s revised prediction has peak bloom beginning on or around Monday, April 3, 2023. The concert includes works by G.F. Handel, as well as music by Henry Purcell from the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice. There are also names likely new to you — like James Oswald, whose Airs for the Seasons celebrates flowers, and Ignatius Sancho, an 18th century Black British composer and abolitionist with a remarkable history.
